Sinfonia Vulcanica & Cubo

Sinfonia Vulcanica and Cubo: the stone that sings

From April 7 to 13, 2025, in the vibrant heart of Brera, Nerosicilia gave voice to stone. With Sinfonia Vulcanica, a site-specific installation by Leonardo Talarico, and the debut of Cubo, a new speaker carved from lava stone, the Made in Italy brand explored the boundaries between material and music.

Specialized in working with lava stone from Mount Etna, Nerosicilia continues to explore the deeper nature of materials. Cubo is born from this vision: an object of pure, essential design, capable of conveying the complexity and depth of matter through the clarity of sound. Technology and craftsmanship come together in a speaker that fits seamlessly into any context—indoor or outdoor—thanks to Bluetooth connectivity and the ability to link up to 100 units simultaneously.

Framing 'Cubo' in a poetic narrative, 'Sinfonia Vulcanica' elevated matter into a lyrical language. A monumental nine-meter high piano, forged from metal and lava stone, rises toward the sky, dissolving into infinity. Inside, the Cubo speakers are revealed as vessels of vibration and poetry—audio devices with iridescent tones that transform silence into harmony.

The mirrored platform that multiplies the keyboard amplifies the visual and symbolic impact of the installation, while live performances by musicians from the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan intertwined sound and silence, the visible and the invisible. The notes, transmitted through the stone, reverberate in the air, becoming echo, memory, and story.

“In this work, design is revelation: a keyboard dissolves into the sky, a harmony of materials and melodies. A project that expresses the primordial essence of the dialogue between nature and music, between past and present,” says Leonardo Talarico.
