Solferino 18: the new harmony of space.
In the heart of Brera, at 18 Via Solferino, the Nerosicilia showroom reopens with a new look, the result of a redesign by the studio Meneghello Paolelli. This architectural “make-up” project goes beyond a mere setup, standing as a true cultural and design endeavor—one that connects languages, identities, and materials.
The space is shared with Cesana, a historic brand in the bathroom sector, and is designed to express the complementarity between two seemingly distant yet deeply aligned realities: on one side, the technical, high-performance, and neutral nature of Cesana’s solutions; on the other, the understated elegance and decorative refinement of Nerosicilia’s lava stone surfaces.
The goal? To integrate, enhance, and elevate. Through a design vocabulary that draws inspiration from early 20th-century Milan—between Art Deco and Rationalism—the project reinterprets historical codes with a contemporary language, where decoration is not ornament, but essential geometry and living material. Stones, marbles, glossy finishes, and sophisticated colors become narrative tools in a space that welcomes, inspires, and engages in dialogue.
Two main spaces:
The first, intimate and enclosed, fully clad in Pietra Pece grigio pece, is conceived as a “contemporary sauna”—a symbolic space for decompression and purification.
The second, more spacious area unfolds through linear geometric patterns that create continuity between floor and ceiling. Here, the Bluse surfaces by Jpeglab—inspired by 19th-century sailor shirts and Impressionist painting—bring the lava stone to life with colorful stripes, shifting light, and moving shadows. This creates a perfect dialogue with the granata shower enclosures and the new Spaces and Oltre projects by Cesana.
The result is an immersive showroom, where every detail tells a coherent, elegant, and deeply Milanese story: a space capable of uniting function and poetry, material and narrative, history and future.
