Mosaicomicro at the Lake Como Design Festival 2025: fragments of matter between innovation and memory
From 14 to 21 September 2025, Como hosted the seventh edition of the Lake Como Design Festival, transforming the city into a widespread laboratory of creativity. This year's theme was “Fragments”, fragmentation as an opportunity for connection and regeneration.
Within this context, MATERIA 2.0 presented the installation ‘IN FRAMMENTI’ (IN FRAGMENTS), a sensory journey through matter in transformation.
Among the materials featured was Mosaicomicro, which exhibited innovative surfaces obtained from recycling and experimentation, demonstrating how fragments can become a new form of design narrative.
Mosaicomicro and recycled materials that become design
Mosaicomicro's presence in ‘IN FRAMMENTI’ highlighted the value of research into sustainable materials and their potential in contemporary design.
Visitors were able to observe up close surfaces made with:
discarded PC monitors
glass fragments
clay mixtures
recycled glass mosaic tiles
Each material, displayed as a fragment, told a story of memory, transformation and regeneration, perfectly in line with the theme of the festival.
A sensory journey through innovation and craftsmanship
The installation was not just an exhibition of materials, but a true sensory journey.
The public was able to explore the different phases of matter up close: from its raw and imperfect state to its rebirth in new-generation design surfaces.
With its creations, Mosaicomicro has demonstrated how craftsmanship, recycling and technological innovation can come together, opening up new perspectives for the homes of the future.
Fragments as a design resource
The theme ‘Fragments’ was not interpreted as simple breakage, but as an opportunity for recomposition.
The fragments of glass, ceramics and electronic materials, reworked by Mosaicomicro, become starting points for new aesthetic and functional connections.
In this way, what was once waste is transformed into poetic and sustainable material, capable of opening up new design narratives.
A festival that combines memory and future
The Lake Como Design Festival 2025 confirmed its international vocation, bringing together designers, architects and innovative companies.
With the exhibition ‘IN FRAMMENTI’ (IN FRAGMENTS), MATERIA 2.0 has created a space for reflection on the role of materials in contemporary design, and Mosaicomicro has given voice to the creative potential of fragments, demonstrating how reuse and recycling can become central tools for the future of living.
