RESTYLING IN COLOUR
A total white loft on two levels, located in a former factory area, has been renovated with bold decorative choices, evident in both the finishes and furnishings, from the living room to the bathrooms.
The Bathroom of the Sleeping area: An Oasis of Wellbeing and Design
The bathroom on the upper floor, located next to the bedrooms, serves as the main service area of the house. This wellness space, featuring a freestanding bathtub and suspended sanitary fixtures with a rounded design, stands out for its masterful use of bold material and color combinations.
Flooring and Tiling
The bleached oak parquet floor adds warmth and sophistication to the room, while the walls are a masterpiece of pastel grey and pink shades, alternating in a harmonious composition with textured relief tiles.
Fine Finishes
The back wall of the bathroom is clad with slabs of lava stone from Nero Sicilia's Le Superfici and Buki a Rilievo collection. This Sicilian stone, quarried on the slopes of Mount Etna, is distinguished by its light grey color and natural porosity. The composition, which juxtaposes pieces in varying shades of grey, doesn't cover the entire surface but is framed by a pink border that accentuates the significant thickness of the lava stone.
To make lava stone suitable for cladding in wet areas such as bathrooms and kitchens, an innovative high-temperature baking treatment, ranging from 1000°C to 1300°C, was applied. This process enhances the stone's resistance and impermeability while also altering its aesthetics, allowing for a range of color variations from grey to deep black. An additional decorative process involves the use of glass powders, recovered from old cathode ray tubes from computers and televisions, which are fused onto the stone during subsequent firing.
Details of Furniture and Accessories
The bathroom is furnished with high-quality design elements: the bathtub by Antonio Lupi, sanitary ware by Valdama, and taps and fittings by Agape. The IC hanging lamp, designed by Michael Anastassiades for Flos, adds a touch of contemporary elegance. Towels by Mirabello Carrara, a rug, and a plant from Ikea complete the space with both practicality and style. A custom-designed iron cabinet by the designers adds a unique and personalized touch to the room.
A masonry shoulder divides the bathroom into two zones, creating a niche at the entrance of the service area where a wall-hung washbasin by Bagni Rex is placed. Wall-mounted brass faucets by Agape and towels by Fazzini add an extra touch of luxury and elegance.
