Nerosicilia at Cersaie 2026: MATERIE, a new exhibition space
MATERIE is the exhibition space through which Nerosicilia made its debut at Cersaie in Bologna, transforming the trade fair setting into a museum-like materials boutique.
A project designed by Leonardo Talarico, where architecture is not simply a container but becomes an integral part of the narrative: enhancing the product, organizing the space and helping to define the brand’s identity.
A single space for Nerosicilia Group surfaces
The exhibition brought together a wide selection of products and surfaces from the Group’s brands: Nerosicilia, Mosaicomicro, Pietra Pece, Domenico Mori and Marmi Santa Caterina.
Different materials were presented through a clear and immediate visual narrative. Each brand retains its own identity while connecting through materials, finishes, colours and geometries, creating a shared exhibition language.
Product, architecture and graphics converge into a single system, creating continuity between the space, the surfaces on display and the visual communication.
Lava stone as an element of the space
The connection with the territory and Nerosicilia’s origins is also expressed through the volcanic lava pebble flooring, bringing the material of Mount Etna directly into the architecture of the stand.
Within this material landscape, selected stone blocks integrate speakers, allowing sound to emerge from the lava and transforming a technical element into part of the exhibition experience.
At the centre of the space, the 1669 table designed by Bjarke Ingels becomes one of the focal points of the exhibition, bringing together design, lava stone craftsmanship and material research.
A continuous bench integrates seating, storage and technical functions. The lighting is also designed to minimise visible elements and preserve the formal clarity of the space.
A narrative through materials
With MATERIE, Nerosicilia’s participation at Cersaie 2026 becomes an opportunity to present not only a selection of surfaces, but an exhibition system capable of expressing the Group’s identity through architecture and design culture.
A space where different materials coexist while retaining their distinctive identities, and where the exhibition design becomes the common thread connecting product, brand and environment.
