Nerosicilia BDNY 2025: Textured Surfaces and Sustainable Design

Stand 526/528 | November 9–10, 2025 – New York

Nerosicilia BDNY 2025 – At the Boutique Design New York fair, an international reference point for the world of hospitality and design, Nerosicilia presented an installation dedicated to materiality and sustainability, where the surface becomes a narrative and an emotion.

Booth 526/528 hosted a scenic composition of 12 self-supporting emotional totems, each designed to interpret the different souls of the group. A visual and sensory journey that revealed the richness of the finishes and the expressive power of natural materials crafted according to Sicilian tradition.

The undisputed protagonists of the installation:

  • nerosicilia – the vitrified lava stone from Mount Etna, transformed into a contemporary surface through a blend of technology and craftsmanship;

  • mosaicomicro – the ecological mosaic made from recycled glass recovered from old, discarded TV screens;

  • pietra pece – the noble stone of Ragusa, presented in different textures and shades, ranging from deep black to the warm hues of beige and grey.

The composition of the totems, made with tiles featuring soft shapes – circles and ovals –, gave life to true emotional panels: surfaces that invited touch and discovery, blending design, research, and respect for the material. The carefully balanced color palette expressed the elegance and strength of contemporary Sicily.

Through its participation in BDNY 2025, Nerosicilia reaffirms its vision of sustainable design: a perfect synthesis of nature and innovation, art and function. The installation conveyed an identity built on research, balance, and materiality, serving contemporary architecture and design.

With its presence at BDNY, Nerosicilia reaffirms its commitment to promoting Sicilian materials worldwide, transforming stone into an aesthetic and sustainable language.
