Forme aRilievo published in ABITARE: lava stone design by nerosicilia

The international magazine ABITARE, in its September 2025 issue (no. 648), dedicates space to nerosicilia's forme aRilievo collection.
This is an important recognition for Italian design that originates from the lava stone of Mount Etna. It also confirms the value of a natural material transformed into a contemporary architectural element.

A project combining art, geometry and matter

The aRilievo series comprises five medium-format tiles designed for indoor and outdoor use. The surfaces feature geometric reliefs – circles, squares, triangles, parallelograms and trapeziums – inspired by the works of artist Sol LeWitt.
Each element is designed to be laid with zero joints, with a thickness of 20 mm. In this way, the matter becomes continuous and the light enhances its shapes.
The design thus blends with art, creating surfaces capable of transforming the space.

The strength of Etna's lava stone

Lava stone has always been at the heart of Nerosicilia's research. It is a natural, resistant and living material that reflects the identity of the Etna area.
In the aRilievo collection, this material takes on a sculptural dimension. The surfaces interact with the space and create shadows that change throughout the day.
As a result, every room acquires depth and movement. Furthermore, the contrast between form and light highlights the authentic texture of the stone.
The result is a balance between craftsmanship, innovation and contemporary design.

Innovation and identity in Italian design

The publication in ABITARE confirms the design value of nerosicilia and its ability to transform tradition into modern language.
The collection combines aesthetics and technique, creating a bridge between nature and architecture. It also enhances the lava stone of Mount Etna as a symbol of sustainable innovation.
For this reason, forme aRilievo represents a new expression of Italian design, capable of blending art, materials and local culture.
Finally, the presence in ABITARE underlines nerosicilia's commitment to bringing the power of the Sicilian landscape to the international design scene.
